Foundation Trained Dogs

Foundational Paws, Building Lifelong Bonds

At Hillside Paws for Life,

our foundation trained dogs undergo an extensive program aimed at building confidence and obedience from an early age.

From the tender age of 2 weeks, these puppies are exposed to sound therapy

From clanging pots and pans to the cries of babies, from booming fireworks to the hustle and bustle of traffic, our puppies are exposed to a wide range of sounds designed to desensitise them and build resilience.

Accompanying us on outings from 6 weeks old in a puppy sling

our foundation trained puppies experience the sights and sounds of the world around them. Trips to town centers, garden centers, and other bustling environments provide invaluable exposure, helping them grow into confident and well-adjusted adult dogs.

By the time they reach 12 weeks of age, our foundation trained puppies exhibit impressive obedience skills.

They walk calmly on a lead, sit and stay on command, lie down when instructed, respond reliably to recall and are approximately 85% potty trained. These foundational behaviors lay the groundwork for a lifetime of learning and companionship. Our foundational dogs typically leave us around 14 weeks old.
